The Best of Ourselves

The Best of Ourselves

A Focus on Who We Could Be, Not What We Lack

I cried a bit yesterday as I wrote my blog.

I wrote a story about heroes, and how we pretended to be them growing up.

And I wrote about how these stories are actually all about the best parts of us.

The parts we could actually be if we just tried and believed.

It's so easy to focus on the things we lack and get tied to that.

Always focusing on our negatives.

Always focusing on what we lack.

But we are potential.

And we have the example of who we could be in front of us.

It might be funny to think that Hollywood could provide the example of what we could be.

Sensationalised hero movies making millions, aren't exactly the first place you might go to for an example of how to act or who you can be.

But these stories are the replicas of stories we've been telling for thousands of years.

And so I cried a bit.

Thinking of who I could be.

Of just how much potential I have.

Of just how much potential we all have.

If we could only just step up and become like those heroes.

If we spent more time realising our best parts, and less time focusing on our negatives.

In each of us there is a hero just waiting to save the day.

Until next time,

Marco
