Willing to Stand Out

Willing to Stand Out

Doing Something Different Gets Different Results

One of the hardest things we can do as we grow up, is to stand out.

It's hardwired into us not to stand out.

Once upon a time in the tribe, only one or two people stood out.

And standing out at the wrong time could get you kicked out.

It was not a good idea to be a liability to the tribe.

Now though, as the masses grow ever larger, not standing out is the problem.

Sure, it's even scarier now, because we can be critiqued by everyone on the internet and beyond.

But being just a number in all areas of life is not what you could truly do as well.

I bring this back to health and fitness.

We do ever larger, ever more intense classes.

And yet, most people don't get results.

Most people don't stand out when they do the same as everyone else.

Who would have thought!

This doesn't mean those classes don't have value.

It doesn't mean you won't improve, at least a little.

And you can meet new people and have fun along the way.

But if you wanted to get more results than everyone else, and keep in mind everyone else isn't really getting results, then it would be better to do something different.

And doing something different means being willing to stand out.

It's scary - the focus is on you.

But having the focus on you is also the best way to push yourself further.

When I coach at PEAK, I actually give everyone individual programs.

It's a lot of work, but I want them to stand out.

Why give someone who is completely different, the exact same thing as someone with 3 years experience.

It might be scary, but being willing to stand out could be the best decision you make for your health and life.

Until next time,

Marco
